Welcome to my blog! I hope that my extremely limited skills (I mean LIMITED) will eventually prove entertaining to those of you who venture to my little corner of the elctronic world.

My name is Tim Jackson and I am the Brand Manager for Masi Bicycles. This is my dream job, for all intents and purposes. I get to be the "head" of a bike brand I have loved and lusted after for more than 20 years. It's like letting a 6 year old have free reign in a candy store and telling them "it's ok if you have some soda too". Scary.

The purpose of this blog is to let you all in on how I go about trying to resurrect this bike brand and reconnect to all of those who have been riding Masi for decades. This is not intended to be a sales tool, though if it spurs you to buy one of my bikes, then I get to keep my job a little longer. It is my goal to give you a little peak through the window into what happens and why. Not a lot of people outside of the bike industry really know how inglamorous the job is and yet how satisfying it is to see your idea roll into the building and then take it out for it's maiden voyage. For those of you who are bike junkies like me, I hope this proves to be of interest.

I have loved cycling for more than 20 years and I get to do and be around the things I love most, outside of my wife and children of course. I get paid to talk about bikes, ride bikes, look at bikes, write about bikes... pretty much LIVE bikes. Like I said before, it's a dream come true.

There will be pictures to see and names dropped when I can get away with it. For example, I recently had a conversation about track bikes with the Keirin world champion- Jamie Staff- who happens to be a hell of a nice guy. Now, not everybody will find that appealing, but maybe somebody will because I was pretty much in full-blown geek mode during that conversation and was happy as a pig in poop.

Ultimately, this will be a journey in bike geek land. If you are a bike geek too, then maybe you'll come back to see what happens. If not, maybe you'll come back to see how poorly I am doing with this.
