Go Cancellara!

Fabian Cancellara continues to be one of the most impressive professional riders in the world peloton. He is the two-time reigning world champion in the time trial, has won Paris-Roubaix, has won stages in the Tour de France and just finished winning Tirreno-Adriatico and Monte Paschi Eroica in recent weeks- along with the opening time trial of the Tour of California.

And now, today, the Swiss phenom added Milan-Sanremo to his impressive and growing palmares with a gutsy solo break 3km from the finish line, out of a small elite leading group. If Cancellara is not one of the most dominant riders of his generation, then I do not know who is.

I have zero connection to Cancellara or his CSC team, I am just a fan of the sport and this impressive young rider. The sport needs "heroes" like Fabian. By all accounts, he is a great man as well as a great champion. He is humble in his victories, yet confident in his abilities. He is, to me, a true "campionissimo".

Congratulations Fabian and CSC.

I agree -- Cancellara's been doing outstanding this year. Too bad their sponsor doesn't things that way.

Cool blog Masiguy. I just stumbled on to it a few weeks ago while looking around for some info on a Masi Speciale Fixe. Ordered an orange one and I'll be picking it up this Wednesday - can't wait to get it but I know I'll be changing that cog to something more forgiving to begin with.
