A little more love...

Nearly a month ago, I got a totally unexpected package in the mail with the following;Since it is hard to read here;
Hey Tim,

Here is a little extra motivation for losing that "winter weight", an XL T-shirt.

When you lose that 20lbs, we'll send you a large JERSEY.

Keep up the fight (because we are in the same battle).

Thanks for all that you do,

Bryan

Well, I'm not quite to that 20lb mark- though as of tonight, after another good roller workout, I am down to 209.2lbs- I am losing weight and feeling fitter and stronger all the time. Not actually feeling FIT or STRONG yet, but closer to each all the time.

I've still got a bit of work to do, but the finish line is a helluva lot closer now than it was a month ago. Just about 5lbs left to reach my pre-crash weight of 205... though nowhere near the same fitness level.

Bryan and the guys at Renaissance Bicycles run a pretty sweet operation taking "vintage" frames and marrying them to modern components to create neo-classical rides. They've got a few sweet beauties worthy of your slobber... so go get your bib and then check out their site. Better yet, stop in the shop and say howdy.

Thanks again Bryan and Renaissance!

"I'll sleep when I'm dead..."

I've been awake since 3:00AM because I fell asleep on my couch last night, when I was trying to just get a short nap before digging into a mountain of work. Ah, the glamorous side of being a Brand Manager...

I won't bore you with my usual moanings of "oh my gawd, I'm so busy". I'm trying to get away from that, since it is now the permanent status quo. But yes... I'm darned busy right now... just like many of you.

Thank you all, again, for the support regarding my recent cholesterol issues. I sincerely appreciate the support and hearing your own stories of how you are dealing with your challenges. Once I get my head more above water, I am thinking of doing a little fitness challenge or just a simple support network. I have been riding every day since the "diagnosis" and have been watching my diet. My weight has bounced around over the past week by about 2 pounds, but I am hoping to lose about 20 pounds total. With that in mind, it would be fun to start a group to encourage all of us to meet our weight or fitness goals for the year... so stay tuned for more. It may be something here or maybe a group in Facebook, not sure yet.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm still here and that I haven't vanished and also that I am staying focused on my health and riding as much as I can.

Thanks again for the support and friendship... now it's back to work before I have to leave... for work.

So... whatcha think?

Thanks to my very lovable buddy, Chris Crashball, I now have a new look and feel to the MASIGuy blog.

Let us know what you think. Improvements/ changes can still be made... so let us know.

Thanks again to Chris for helping me out and changing an award winning site again.

Inching along...

FINALLY got a follow-up visit scheduled with the orthopedic surgeon who performed the miracle surgery to reattach the end of my thumb and examined my knee and my other fractures (like my vertebrae, skull and rib). I won't go on a rant about our healthcare system here, but suffice it to say I've been a tad frustrated lately.

Also experimenting with a new computer stand/ rolling desk for my laptop, that my sister Sara gave me. Trying to find a way to work "comfortably"... which is proving to be quite difficult. BUT... I'm still trying, just the same.

Thanks for all the comments and photos sent to me after my "do me a favor" post on Friday. I'll have a new post up soon sharing some of the photos I received and stories that were sent in. Thanks for helping to brighten things up during this recovery.

Ok... it's time for nap #1 for today.

Easter Goodness...

Today was Easter, if you were not aware. I'm not a particularly "religious" man, not in the traditional sense at least, but I do give thanks on days like today; the weather was beautiful, I was with my daughter, we went for a bike ride, I spent time with my family, I gave thanks for love, I took my first ride in my new team clothing and I ate some very delicious foods (which meant I took a second ride on my rollers this evening to burn some calories). All in all, if there truly is a God- he smiled on me and my family today. For that, I am beyond thankful.

Masidaughter posing happily with her favorite new friend... which makes Masidad exceedingly happy!

Oh yeah... super cool new team kit for the year! A very big kudos to the Blue Squirrel for another fantastic kit design. It's a kick ass kit and I hope to get fit enough to make it go fast this year.

A nice cool pic of the two of us in the middle of downtown San Diego. I asked Masidaughter if she wanted to go home, or if she wanted to head through downtown and keep riding... she opted to keep riding. My heart is still skipping...

It was a really beautiful day today and the Bay was the perfect backdrop for the cutest co-pilot in town.

It's a good thing she has a sense of humor- she'll need it with me as her father.

I just had to do the generic team rider shot... I couldn't pass it up. Dig the kickass team cap too!

There was an Easter egg hunt for the kids...

... and one of the kids got older...

... but he can still blow out candles!

In the end, it was a great day.

I hope that your Easter/ Sunday/ weekend was equally enjoyable and that you had a little something to be happy about too.

Little reminders mean a lot.

Little reminders mean a lot some days.

(My "reminder board" in my kitchen, with a little graffiti left by an anonymous tagger.)

Thanks, Squirrel.
